Tattoo FAQ

There are several things that are essential for a quality tattoo, a few of which are:
1. A talented artist with an education in the technicalities of art in general
2. An artist who has been trained to tattoo properly
3. State of the art sterilization procedures and overall cleanliness
Appointment Information
• Please be on time for your appointment. Please notify me of any cancellations within 24 hours of set time.
• Please bathe/shower before your appointment. (I will do you the same courtesy.)
• No alcohol before being tattooed. It thins your blood and will result in excess bleeding. Also, drunks are annoying.
• Make sure you have eaten within two hours of being tattooed
How are tattoos priced?
I base price on the piece (size, detail, etc)
How old do you have to be to get tattooed?
You must be at least 18 years of age. No exceptions.
Can I bring in my own drawing?
Yes! I encourage this. Any visual aids to help me get a better idea of what you want will benefit us both.
Can you fix/cover-up a bad tattoo I have?
Probably. A consultation is usually required to determine what imagery is necessary to adequately cover the old work.
Can you tattoo over a scar?
It depends on the severity and maturity of the scar. This is judged on a case-by-case basis. In general, a scar should be at least one year old. Regardless, scar tissue may still lose ink after the tattoo heals.
Does it hurt?
Yes.
How do I take care of my tattoo?
You can talk to one-hundred tattoo artists and get one-hundred different answers to this question. My advice is this: Use ointment (A&D, Bacitracin, etc). Apply a very thin layer to the tattoo up to three times daily. Some artists will tell you not to use these products, but those artists are wrong. All topical ointments are petroleum-based and are more or less the same thing.
Gently wash your tattoo with soap and water. Cleanliness cleanliness cleanliness.
After your tattoo begins to flake and peel (typically after 4-5 days), you may then stop applying ointment and switch over to lotion.
Do not soak your tattoo in water. Do not expose it to direct sunlight.
How long can I expect my tattoo to take to heal?
Tattoos take between 2-3 weeks for the initial healing process.
Do you do free touch-ups?
Yes. I will do one free touch-up within a year of the initial tattooing. This excludes work on hands and feet.
Is there anything you won’t tattoo?
I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason.
I will not do hate-based tattoos, anything on the face or genitals, and limited work on feet.
